MLM Information: The Truth About This Opportunity

Let's go through a number of the most common questions we get. The following MLM information is crucial for you to know in order to be successful, because there are so many misconceptions out there.

Q: What are the different kinds of MLM opportunities?
A: Let's boil down all the MLM information out there for you: There are two main types of MLM opportunities--the product-based ones, and the service-based.

The product-based programs have as their underlying product things like vitamins or skin-care products. They are typically consumable items--things that go down the drain--rather than products that last and last. The important thing is to get involved with an MLM opportunity with a solid underlying product that you think highly of. If you have a low opinion of the product, sooner or later it will become evident in the MLM information you present to prospects, and you will get nowhere.

Service-based MLM programs offer telephone services, Internet services, etc. They can be quite popular, because if the service is of high quality, and is also central to daily living (like telephones), then it doesn't become a "Should I buy it" question, but rather the easier "Should I switch" question.

Q: Some MLM information I read stated that they're illegal scams. Is that true?
A: No, that's not true. Of course, you can find crooks in every type of business, and MLM is no exception. But the majority of MLM opportunities are built on a sound structure: The larger the network of salespeople under you, the more you make. That is similar to being a sales executive with a Fortune 500 company.

The good MLM companies are well-run and they welcome questions and scrutiny. Where problems occur is when promoters who over-promise meet mlm customers who want something for nothing. Both parties are unrealistic, and those arrangements are doomed to failure. Fortunately, they can be easily avoided. That's what we teach you to do on this site. For example, be sure to check out our page that explains how to judge a good opportunity from a bad one by clicking here.

Q: Will it be "Easy Street" once I sign up for an MLM deal, the way some MLM information claims?
A: No, it won't. As we say on the page concerning work-at-home myths, working with MLM is not impossible, and it's not easy...it's doable. (Click here to see those myths about earning money from home.) The good programs have systems, and plenty of people to help you along the way. Then it's up to you to work the system. The farmer can feel like he's working when he buys a shiny tractor and big bags of seed. What really counts is when he gets out there and plants those seeds. Then he has to tend them. Is the work impossible? Certainly not. But then again, the farmer can't decide to invent his own preferred method of planting and harvesting a field of wheat in a week by working day and night. Only his steady efforts--using proven techniques--plus time and patience, lead to results.

There's one other similarity. Just as you can have a little backyard garden, or a whole big farm, your results are proportionate to your efforts. You definitely can do MLM as a hobby, and put only a little time into it on a regular basis (the backyard plot). Done properly, it will yield a nice extra little harvest for you. That may be all you're looking to add right now, and that's fine. But if you are looking to support yourself on MLM (and create that big farm), then of course the work is much more substantial. But so are the rewards!

Q: MLM works best for what type of people? Who just isn't cut out for it?
A: Please see our chart by clicking here, to help you find out which type of opportunity is right for you. However, in general, MLM works best for people who don't mind talking with new people, answering questions, and repeating that process frequently. No great computer skills are needed, nor is much money needed to start. A critical ingredient, which sometimes is glossed over in MLM information, is a willingness to learn a system, and FOLLOW it. Restless artist types, who just want to create, be bound by no constraints, and have the world recognize their genius, are better off opening an art gallery. There, they can proudly list their occupation as "starving artist".

Q: Is there a main difference between people that succeed with MLM and those that don't?
A: Yes there is, and it's one word: persistence. When you can't be denied, you won't be. Compared to this factor, all the MLM information on products, competitive advantages, etc. does not matter. Until someone teaches you about staying with it, you won't have a chance.

Fortunately, there's a great system for staying with it: the weekly meeting. Whether by phone or in person, this meeting of several people in an MLM opportunity allows the team to help all its individuals. There are few obstacles that haven't been faced--and solved--by someone on the team. Therefore, when you review the MLM information on an opportunity you're considering, be sure that the weekly team meeting is definitely a part. Persistence is far easier when it isn't a blind courageous stance, but instead a proven system backed by a supportive team.

Q: Can you recommend any specific MLM opportunities you've had good luck with?
A: We think highly of a company called Excel. We have been involved with Excel for several years, and our own experience has proven it to be both a solid home income opportunity, and an honest one. Excel offers a whole variety of telecommunications services.
