How To Put Over 2,000 People In Your Downline
In Only One Year (12 Months)!

This
concept has been around for a long time. I learned it by reading
Brook Hedges book, Who Stole The American Dream -- a book I highly
recommend! Here's the concept in a nutshell. You sponsor one person
a month for 12 months. Each person you sponsor does the same. The
people they sponsor, in turn, sponsor one a month also. After 12
months here's what your organization can grow to:

Total
count in your downline is 2048 after only 12 months! This example
shows you the power of exponential growth. One of the things I like
to point out to my new distributors when I'm explaining this "rule
of one" is that after 6 months you only have 32 people in your
program!
That's 1.5% of your total projection of 2048. Don't be so short
sighted. Your downline grows exponentially in the last few months.
This program is easily duplicatable. I usually say to a new recruit,
you can recruit 1 person per month, can't you? The key to getting
someone off to a fast start is to get them fixated on a goal.
If
you sign them up and say, go get'em' 99% of them will flounder for
about 90 days and quit. Without any direction everyone fails! By
getting your downline to focus on such a simple fact of recruiting
just one person a month you help keep them in for more than 90 days.
Plus,
when you call your downline every month you can ask the simple question,
have you sponsored your one this month and have you helped your
downline do the same? Although this kind of simplicity seems child-like,
you need to realize that the easier you make it for your downline
to stay interested the longer they will stay in. The longer they
stay in, the greater chance you'll have of them sponsoring someone
really committed who may eventually put in hundreds of members!
Will
your organization grow EXACTLY as shown here? No. I know mine hasn't,
although I've shared this concept over and over again with my entire
downline. In fact, you would have to be some kind of marketing freak
to pull something like this off, but what it does is this: it keeps
you focused on a goal. If you don't know where you are going, then
how can you get there?
If
this chart is so easy to understand and sponsoring just one person
a month is attainable for anyone, why doesn't it work? Because you're
working with PEOPLE! People are unpredictable.
When
you tell them to do something they inevitable go out and do just
the OPPOSITE! The biggest reason this example will never work in
practice is because someone will break the code -- someone won't
sponsor one and those they sponsor won't either.
When
you call your downline and they say they haven't sponsored their
one, don't ask Why not! Instead, ask them if they'd like your help!
Then say, Joe, before we go any further tell me what you're doing
and saying to your prospects.
What
you'll find out is that the reason over 75% of who aren't sponsoring
anyone are either saying the wrong things or they haven't talked
to anyone that month! This is a tricky area and I have made many
mistakes trying to uncover the truth. The truth is, the majority
of your downline will not contact even one person before they drop
out!
It's
seems crazy, but its true. You'd think that after spending $50 to
$200 that people would be more serious about their MLM and at least
try to sponsor someone before they called it quits.
By
calling your downline you're going to encounter this phenomenon.
And the last person your inactive downline wants to hear from is
their ACTIVE upline! Be careful. Anticipate that they haven't done
anything before you call them. When they say, "I've talked
to over 50 people and nobody got in!", realize that this probably
isn't the truth--it's a cover-up and their excuse to exit your program
with a little dignity left.
If
they have talked to 50 unsuccessfully, ask them what they said to
the prospect and what they said in return. You will seldom find
someone striking out in 50 attempts if they are saying and doing
the right things. I try and do some three-way calls with these people,
or at least get some names from them and call FOR them until I sponsor
at least one person for them.
By
calling your downline and saying, Hey, Joe, I'm calling to see how
you're doing on getting your 1 person this month , you find out
who is interested and who isn't. Work with those who want to be
worked with. Sometimes those who want to be worked with are in disguise
and it's your job to identify them.
If
nobody is calling you, turn the tables and call THEM and find out
who's willing to work harder and make more money than you!
So,
is it still possible to put 2,000 people in your organization in
one year or less? You bet it is! How? By using the rule of one as
outlined above with as many personally sponsored people as you can
get.
In
other words, by sponsoring more than one person a month you're anticipating
that not everyone in your organization is going to follow the "rule
of one" . How many won't? That depends upon you and how well
you train your downline. It is possible to have 50% of your downline
sponsoring at least one person a month. But, you'll find that trying
to keep up with it will be a nightmare! Some will sponsor 3 one
month and none the next. Then out of those 3 maybe 1 will get 1
one month while the other 2 do nothing, and so on. See how confusing
this can be?
What
I recommend you do with your leaders is to develop a monthly reporting
system. The beauty of this system is that with one single sheet
of paper you can get your downline to report to YOU every month
what they've done! You can customize this report to fit your particular
MLM.
I like
to know how many self-mailers have been mailed, how many people
have been called, how many they got hold of, how many said "YES"
compared to "NO" , and how much product or "sales"
were moved in their particular downline. I also like to get "projections"
as to what my downline thinks their volume will be next month--
a key in keeping them looking forward towards a goal.
I try
and do this with what I call my "front-line" leaders ONLY.
But, because not everyone of my personally sponsored people are
active, I may be dealing with someone 5 in depth who I call a front-line.
You
should be getting reports with no less than 10 front-line people
at a time in any given month. If you have less, be patient.
That
means you need to keep sponsoring people until you find someone
who is dedicated enough to use this system. The beauty of this system
is that you could have an organization of 5,000 people, but you're
getting reports from 25-30. These 25-30 are getting reports from
their 25-30 and so on.
Another
benefit of using this system is that you make your front-line accountable.
They take pride every month in getting their reports together and
seeing the growth, or lack-there-of, of their organization.
Will
everyone participate in this system?
No.
But, for those who do, you know they are dedicated and are serious
about their MLM program. Work very closely with these people and
help them in any way you can--these are the people that will make
you very, very rich!
Here's
another chart one of my downline members created. Since the "rule
of one" chart as outlined above shows growth in 12 months.
This 'example MLM program' only pays down to the 7th level, this
chart shows how the "rule of one"works in a 7-level Uni-Level
program.
Take
a look for yourself:

The above chart shows the power of just getting one person per month.
And everyone who's recruited just get one. After six months, you
would only have 63 people in your downline (add columns vertically
to determine how many people you would have after the end of each
month). However, after only six more months, you would have 3301
people in your organization!
Tape
a copy of this chart on your refrigerator or file cabinet at work.
Monitor your downline report and draw your group out. Identify WHO
in your organization is sponsoring people, then draw their group
out.
The
point is, work with those who are working your program. Call or
e-mail those who haven't sponsored anyone yet and offer your help.
Remind them of the various ways they can "plug-in" to
your system to determine their interest level. If they aren't ready
to move on now, then don't worry about it.
Keep
in close contact with these people by calling them every month right
after you get your downline report. Chart their progress. Congratulate
them when they ve sponsored one or more last month. If they didn't
sponsor anyone try to find out why.
Remember
that you're not their boss--you re their LEADER! Encourage them
and understand that everyone is going to have a bad month and do
nothing. The key to your MLM success is to learn how to deal with
people effectively when things are going good and when they aren't
going the way you want them to!
Your
ability to earn a lifetime residual income will be in direct proportion
to keeping in contact with your group and guiding them. If you know
someone hasn't done a darn thing this month, don't call them and
give them a hard time, instead call them and share with them a success
story you or someone else in your downline has.
Or,
talk about any new products or recruiting system you're using. When
you hang up the phone you want them to be saying to themselves,
You know, "So & So" is really a nice guy, I can see
why he is so successful. I really need to get back on track and
build this thing! If you hang up the phone and they say, that guy
is a jerk, who is he to tell me what to do , you've lost!
Creating
an atmosphere where EVERYONE can be involved--regardless of their
current activity, will generate a long-term residual income for
you. Remember, it's not who you know that counts in MLM--it's who
your downline knows! You can't become financially successful in
MLM if you have to do all the work--that's just another job!
Help
those who want to be helped--give them the information and system
where they can direct their energies--then and only then will you
become free in MLM!
