At Home Work: Can It Work
For Me? Take This Quiz...

Qualities That Are Really Critical For You To Have,
To Be Successful With At Home Work

1. Are you patient?
Yes, it’s true that you can get income from home almost immediately. It’s also true that the more time you devote to getting your business set up, the faster that will happen.

But the largest payoffs come from planting your income seeds, and nurturing them over time, to get really big. If you’re the type who wants instant, big paydays, that’s unrealistic.

2. Do you persevere?
Do you keep going, even when family members or so-called "friends" blow holes in your ideas, or after you have some early setbacks? Hey, lots of things look good at first blush. Also, it’s easy to buy a kit or enroll in a class relating to at home work, feeling that you’ve accomplished something.

But the real test comes when you then have to do something—to apply that knowledge. That’s when the romance of the original idea has worn off, and it’s time to act. The good news is you’re much closer to success now, too! The person who’s interested today, and tomorrow is onto something else, is not a good candidate for a business requiring at home work.

One of the richest men in America, Walter Annenberg, said: "I want to remind you that success in life is based on hard slogging. There will be periods when discouragement is great and upsetting, and the antidote for this is calmness and fortitude and a modest yet firm belief in your competence. Be sure that your priorities are in order so that you can proceed in a logical manner, and be ever mindful that nothing will take the place of persistence."

Qualities That Are Nice To Have,
But Not Critical for At Home Work

3. An easy nature with other people.
Even though it is possible to make money with at home work without ever talking to people, it is easier if you are comfortable with people. This is one of those skills that definitely gets easier with practice.

Also, if you have a solid opportunity to share with people that contact you, it’s easier to deal with them because you’re focusing on the opportunity and not on your conversation skills.

4. A willingness to learn computer skills.
There are many business tools out there that require just about no technical skill. They’re pre-packaged, "turnkey" solutions that handle the technical aspects.

Still, some people just won’t touch a computer, as if it's some beast that can’t be tamed. It is much more useful to have an open mind about using computers as just another tool.

Rather than dismiss them entirely if you’ve had trouble with computers, it is better to identify what aspect you want to get better at, and ask for help.

Qualities That Spell Doom For Your Home Business

5. You’re looking to get "something for nothing".
No, profit doesn’t drop into your lap any more than worms drop into a bird’s nest. You have to get up off your butt and make something happen. There are plenty of garbage websites that promise "free traffic" and "thousands of customers hungry to buy your products!!!!" That’s nonsense, simply designed to get you to buy their services.

The good news is that if you provide something of value, and know how to market it, then you can indeed make a solid home income.

6. You think you can get high reward with zero risk.
You don’t have to risk much, but you have to risk something, even if it’s just your time. The barriers to at home work have never been lower, but you still will have to contribute time, energy, and patience.

7. You have preconceived notions that form a solid shell against any new concepts.
These take the form of "It’ll never work for these reasons..."; or "I tried that and it didn’t work...." Often the difference between success and failure is a small adjustment. Don’t fall into the trap of concluding that something won’t work, or something similar didn’t pan out a while ago. Have an open mind, and give it an honest try.

8. You don’t follow directions.
Were you the kid who could "improve" on the recipe before ever trying out the actual recipe? Do you always know a "better" way, right from the get-go? You need to put aside your temptations to make something better, and first make it the way someone else succeeded with it. When you then become a master with one proven method of at home work, you can experiment with improvements. Not before then.

How would you rate yourself on the eight areas above? If you have lots of the first two points, and not much at all of the last four points, then you are a solid candidate for a home business. But if you take an honest look at yourself, and see that you’re largely the opposite, then maybe you are indeed like Cousin Ralph, and should consider a conventional job.
